Stainless steel 410 / 1.4006 is a hardenable martensitic stainless steel. Alloy designations of 1.4006 are similar, but may not be considered as a direct equivalent to: 410S, UNS S41000, and 410S21..410 stainless steel is a martensitic stainless steel grade which can be hardened after heat threatment. AISI 410 (UNS S41000) grade can be heat threatable. 1.4006 material is a magnetic grade and this grade is usually produced as quenched and tempered (QT650). 410 grade material has a good mechanical properties and medium corrosion resistance. 410 stainless steel is really similar with 420 (1.4021) grade stainless steel and the main difference is the carbon content percentage. 410 stainless steel is not so expensive and it’s mechanical properties and corrosion resistence will be enough for many applications. 410 (1.4006) usually used in turbine parts, petrochemical industries, valve parts, nuts and bolts.

The typical applications of stainless steelare liste 410 as below:
Steam turbine blades, bolts, hydraulic press valves, cracking apparatus,
Water pump parts, nuts, stainless steel sieves for coal screening
Components working in contact with water and steam.
Automotive exhaust tubing
